A warning of strong winds in the Minch may result in ferry disruption on a number routes on Tuesday.
The Met Office said the islands can expect force eight conditions in the morning and perhaps severe gale nine for a period in the afternoon and evening.
The South Uist to Mallaig service is cancelled.
Instead, the MV Lord of the Isles will leave Lochboisdale an hour earlier than scheduled and divert to Oban. Departure from the Argyll port is at noon.
The MV Hebrides’ sailings for Harris and North Uist are liable to disruption, or cancellation at short notice from late morning.
