MSP Alasdair Allan has welcomed the news that the MV Loch Seaforth has been repaired and is back in service.
Alasdair Allan commented: “First and foremost, I think it is worth recognising the efforts of engineers and crew who repaired the fault which developed on MV Loch Seaforth during her crossing to Stornoway yesterday, put her through sea trials and returned her to service in such a short timeframe. This has been a tremendous relief to all who would have been affected, and greatly appreciated.
“There remain passengers who were inconvenienced through the night, and many others who will suffer delays today as the ferry service gets back to normal.
“This episode gives a stark illustration of just how quickly a serious situation can develop when the fleet is stretched to the very limit during peak season.
