Western Isles ferry services face weather disruption from this afternoon and into
Wednesday night.
Relief sailings for South Uist are cancelled. Affected traffic with pre-booked tickets
will be contacted directly by the port office. The service has not operated since
Friday with spells of strong winds coinciding with the shared ferry schedule. 50
- 60 mph gusts are possible at times across the open water over the next 24 hours.
MV Loch Seaforth’s timetable is on alert from late Tuesday afternoon with a forecast
of north easterly winds and a high sea swell on her route potentially impacting her
evening’s departure from Ullapool as well as all of Wednesday’s schedules. Her freight
sailings are also at risk. CalMac said transportation of livestock will be assessed
on a case-by case basis.
