Forecasts of strong southerly winds and rough seas on Saturday is causing ferry disruption for some Western Isles communities.

Due to high winds, all sailings on the Sound of Harris service have been cancelled.

The alternative route between Lochmaddy and Tarbert, operated by MV Alfred, is liable to disruption or cancellation at short notice.

MV Isle of Arran’s sailings for South Uist are cancelled for the day.  

No ferry was scheduled to operate the Castlebay route on Saturday otherwise the service may have been affected.
