Cal Mac ferry, MV Isle of Lewis, is to head to the Mersey for urgent repairs to her bow thruster.
She was withdrawn from the Barra - Oban route nearly a week ago, leaving the island with a partial service.
The exact nature of the fault has yet to be determined it is believed. Nothing amiss was found when divers undertook an external inspection while the vessel was laid up in Stornoway last week.
Now an out-of the-water examination is required.
MV Isle of Mull carried out a full service today, the first same-day return sailing for Barra for some days.
The Clansman will undertake a Wednesday afternoon run from Castlebay. MV Lord of the Isles is expected to cover the Barra route from that same day.
South Uist’s ferry has been withdrawn as a result of the Loti’s redeployment.
