Development Manager
Outer Hebrides

It’s about building understanding and engagement in the work of VisitScotland and our partners and encouraging investment in tourism, quality improvements and innovation.
We’ll look to you to provide leadership, influence and fresh thinking. With the ability to move seamlessly from strategic to operational and tactical discussions, and a sound knowledge of tourism on the Outer Hebrides, you will help improve collaborative working make the most of new opportunities.

It recognises, however, that this can only be achieved by working effectively and efficiently with a wide range of industry partners (individual businesses, Destination, sectoral and industry associations, local authorities and stakeholders) in a way that recognises their particular needs and aspirations, improving the quality of the visitor experience.
Stornoway is the preferred location for this position, but other Outer Hebrides locations would be considered.

Qualifications
In order to be successful, you'll need to demonstrate the following:
- Significant experience in partnership management roles
- Significant experience of working on own initiative
- Experience of successful achievement of outcomes from collaborative working
- Proficient in developing ideas, seeking and managing input from multiple partners
- Excellent relationship building and networking skills
- Digitally engaged, knowledgeable and able to inspire others
- Ability to influence internal and external partners at all levels
- Degree or equivalent level of experience
- Excellent verbal, written and presentational communication skills
- Good knowledge of marketing principles and good understanding of digital marketing
- Good understanding of government policy and local issues affecting tourism and growth in the Outer Hebrides
- Driving Licence
