Well known retired Stornoway pastor, Rev Stanley Bennie, has died.
Mr Bennie passed away in the Golden Jubilee Hospital in Glasgow on Monday afternoon.
He served in the Church of England and Scottish Episcopal Church before being received into the Catholic Church in 2012.
He is best known as the long serving rector at St Peter's Church in Stornoway, retiring in 2010 as an Episcopalian priest after 41 years in the denomination.
He became a Catholic priest in 2012 following an ordination service in St Columba's Cathedral in Oban.
He also served as chaplain to the RAF base in Stornoway.
Stanley Bennie was a driving force behind the establishment of local community radio station, Isles FM.
Broadcasts were initially transmitted from his living room on Springfield Road.
Father Len Black said his brother, Douglas, and family along with close friends and Fr Black were with him at his bedside.
