A cruise ship diverted to Stornoway to land an ill passenger on Friday morning.
The MV Hebridean Sky broke off from her planned itanery around the west coast.
Her crew took the casualty ashore on their own tender from the outer harbour.
He was transferred to a waiting ambulance and taken to hospital around 6am.
The vessel headed back to sea immediately, anchoring off the Shiants on her voyage to St Kilda.
The Hebridean Sky is part way through her Hebridean Odyssey cruise and is scheduled to berth in Stornoway early next week.
