MP accused of being six years late over fuel action 9/3/11
Donald Crichton says he “welcomed the late intervention” by Angus MacNeil MP calling for the Office of Fair Trading to investigate the fuel price differential between the mainland and the islands.
The Western Isles Labour candidate said: "Earlier this week I called for the Scottish Affairs Committee to investigate this issue so that its report would strengthen the case for the Competition Commission to look into it. I think this would be a more appropriate course of action."
However I am pleased our local MP is following my lead on this in calling for an inquiry.
“The question is why has it taken him six years to call for such an investigation.
“If he has called for it in the past let him publish his letter to the OFT requesting it."
