Winter pictures of a Western Isles mountain road is to be transmitted on the internet.
A remote web cam will film the road conditions on the top of the Clisham, the highest mountain in the islands.
It is hoped the broadcasts via the Comhairle’s website will start before the arrival of an Arctic blast this week allowing motorists to assess the state of the Harris road.
A dramatic change of the mild weather in the first half of the week is expected to see temperatures plunging to zero early on Thursday morning with northerly winds bringing snow showers and the threat of icy surfaces.
Bitter gale force winds will make it feel much colder towards the end of the week and result in potential travel and traffic disruptions.
