Acclaimed Gaelic singer, Christine Primrose, has been awarded a MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
She has been recognised for services to Gaelic music and culture and to education in Scotland and internationally.
Christine Primrose from Carloway on Lewis, has been singing Gaelic songs since she was a child. She has released a number of albums in addition to performing and giving singing classes abroad.
She won the prestigious gold medal for traditional Gaelic singing at the Royal National Mod in Dundee in 1974.
Five years later, she clinched an award at the Pan Celtic Festival in Killarney.
Ms Primrose is a e a lecturer on the Gaelic and traditional music degree course at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on Skye.
