Flood warnings have been issued for causeways in Uist and Benbecula.

The prevailing weather forecast, along with very high tides and waves means that flooding from the sea is expected for the North Ford as well as the Berneray causeway highlights environment agency, Sepa.

Gale force westerly winds mean that a combination of wave overtopping, spray and debris may result in the closure of these road links during Storm Franklin.

There’s a risk either side of the high tide tonight which is at 9pm.

Flooding is also possible to low lying land, roads and buildings.
