We have had word today that our Administrator has been announced as the Scottish Regional winner of OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIAL CARE at the Great British Care Awards.
The Judges at the Great British Care Awards selected Anne Stewart as the winner and said:
“Anne has been the administrator in Blar Buidhe Care Home for 29 and a half years.
“She has worked tirelessly over almost thee decades to support residents, their families and her colleagues.
“Living and working in a small island community, Anne has become so well known and well liked for her immense dedication to her quiet but essential role within the service.”
Anne Stewart said she was “thrilled” at the accolade.
She said: “It is such a great achievement, and I couldn’t of done it without the support from the team at Blar Buidhe.”
Donald McIntosh, home manager at Blar Buidhe, said: “Everyone at Blar Buidhe is thrilled to see Anne win such a special award. She is such a fantastic colleague and we are so very proud of her.”
Anne now goes forward to the British finals of the competition in March at the ICC in Birmingham.
Meanwhile, Anne is also participating in a separate awards event. Tonight she is attending the Hilton in Glasgow as a finalist in the "Ancillary and Support Worker of the Year" category at the Scottish Care Home Awards, hosted by Scottish Care
