The occupants of a car had a fortunate escape when it burst into flames in South Uist yesterday (Friday).
The vehicle caught alight on the main A865 road running through the island.
Benbecula fire crew were alerted at 11.40am and extinguished the blaze.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
Lines of traffic stretched for around half a mile on each side of the incident until the route was cleared.
