Due to a delay to the completion of MV Loch Seaforth’s overhaul on the Mersey, MV
Isle of Lewis will remain redeployed on the Stornoway - Ullapool route for an extra
day until Wednesday 13 November said CalMac.
New bookings cannot be made for this date at present and impacted travellers will
be contacted by the shipping firm.
Meanwhile, MV Hebridean Isles is expected to undertake her last ever commercial sailing
on that day before she heads off for the breaker’s yard. The 39-year-old vessel
will cover the Stornoway - Ullapool freight service.
CalMac also highlights freight services are for haulage and commercial vehicles only.
Customers wishing to travel with non-commercial vehicles or as foot passengers cannot
pre-book and are not guaranteed passage.
The company says passenger numbers on the Hebrides Isles are severely restricted
when the vessel is operating in freight mode and non-commercial/freight customers
should pre-book onto the MV Isle of Lewis’ daytime passenger sailings.
Parking within the marshalling area in Ullapool is for booked freight/commercial
vehicles for this sailing only.
