Official opening ceremony for £22 million new CalMac ferry terminal in Harris

Scotland’s Transport Minister, Fiona Hyslop, formally declared open the new £22 million ferry port in Tarbert.
The harbour project and terminal building commissioned by Caledonian Maritime Agency Ltd (CMAL) began in 2019 but was paused during the global pandemic.
Completed first was a multi-million pound project to rebuild the pier, fendering system, dredging and larger vehicle marshalling area. Ticket office construction took place over 2022.
The pier will accommodate a new £49 million ship to replace MV Hebrides in 2025.
