Due to forecast of adverse weather, the South Uist - Oban ferry service is liable
to disruption or cancellation at short notice on Monday said CalMac.
It follows a forecast of strong southwesterly winds with rough seas for the area.
The Sunday teatime crossings on the Sound of Barra were cancelled due to weather
conditions.
Meanwhile, CalMac is due to provide an update regarding MV Lord of the Isles’ (Loti)
return to South Uist which is still posted as Thursday 15 May but is dependant on
MV Finlaggan completing her annual overhaul on time. The Loti is covering the Islay
route while the Finlaggan is in drydock.
MV Hebrides, which resumed service on her Skye triangle route at the weekend, is
operating an amended timetable on Monday due to livestock sales in North Uist. She
will transport livestock wagons across to the sale, leaving Uig at 5.15am and departing
Lochmaddy at 7.20am.
Normal timetable will resume with the 9.30am sailing from Uig. The afternoon run
out of Tarbert will divert to Lochmaddy to pick up livestock traffic before steaming
onward to Skye. As a result. the normally timetabled early evening sailing from Uig
to Lochmaddy be delayed.
