Branch Manager

 

Macgregor Industrial Supplies

 

Stornoway

 

 

 

Objective

To sell company goods and services to existing, new and potential customers.

To support staff with Admin, stock ordering and general everyday tasks.

 

40 hours plus Saturday rota

Permanent

Stornoway, Isle of Lewis.

 

Responsible for

Present and sell company products and services to current and potential customers

Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets.

Develop and maintain sales materials and current product knowledge.

Manage the handling of all monies received and credited in all areas of the branch.

Participate in marketing events such as seminars and trade shows.

Establish and maintain current client and potential client relationships and handle any queries and complaints in an appropriate manner.

Manage company-computerised network to activate and maintain contract services and client contacts.

Coordinate delivery schedules for merchandise and services as necessary.

Report to the Senior Management Team as necessary through a variety of status reports, including follow-up, and adherence to achieve goals (KPI’s).

Communicate new products, service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered to all staff through Toolbox Talks

Develop and implement special sales activities to reduce excessive stockholdings ensuring stock management is controlled

Adhere to all MIS Ltd policies and procedures including those relating to health and safety and environment protection (including the risk assessment, COSHH and DSEAR processes).

Ensure departmental compliance in accordance with the company quality assurance procedures.

Manage the activities of the team members including appraisals, attendance, performance management and training needs analysis.

Security of the branch

Most meetings and training will be carried out on the job, but on occasions will be carried out in the Inverness Head

 

Office so ability to travel and work from other locations will be necessary.

 

Working Relationships

Ability to supervise, encourage and contribute to existing team.

Internally: Daily contact by telephone or in person, with other team members and other branches.

Externally: Daily contact with customers in person and by telephone.

All showroom stock priced, stock coded, and bin located

All staff adhering to MIS policies and procedures

Core skills

Preferred - Undergone recognised product/equipment training and typically has had at least 1 year’s direct customer/counter sales experience selling industrial equipment and materials.

Required - Excellent people management skills

Required - Excellent numeric and literacy skills

Required - Good IT skills

Required - Excellent organisational skills

Required - Previous experience of systems and processes

Required - Previous experience of Health & Safety compliance

Required - Excellent customer service skills

Required - The ability to work on their own and make decisions relevant to the successful outcome and conclusion of the running of the branch within MIS processes and procedures.

Required - Ability to respond positively to new challenges and change.
