Bethesda Hospice in Stornoway has received a £10,000 donation from island businessman, Neil Mackay.
Mr Mackay, owner of construction company Neil Mackay & Co, is a long standing supporter of the facility.
A hospice spokeswoman said: “Mr Mackay has once again shown his generosity with this kind donation.
“The trustees and management of the Bethesda Hospice would like to sincerely thank Neil Mackay for thinking of us once again.
“We would not be able to continue to provide specialist palliative and end of life care to those in need without the continued support of our community such as Mr Mackay.
This very welcome donation comes at a time when we are still unable to undertake our own programme of fundraising events.
“In order to keep the hospice open we require to raise almost £400,000 each year.”
