Police inquiry following unexplained death 2/5/13
Serious crime police officers are conducting inquires on Benbecula today following the unexplained death of an islander.
The local man was found dead on the island on Wednesday afternoon.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police are investigating the sudden death of a man on the Isle of Benbecula which was reported yesterday afternoon, Wednesday 1 May.
“Police inquiries are ongoing.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained.”
Police are trying to contact family members to informed them of the man’s death.

Around eight police officers including detectives flew from the mainland to Benbecula on Thursday lunchtime to assist Western Isles police.
Their arrival was delayed after the plane suffered technical problems at Inverness airport.
