Lewis woman in court over attempted murder charge  12/3/10

A Lewis woman accused of attempted murder appeared in court today.

It is alleged that Cathie Ann Macleod stabbed her daughter’s boyfriend at an address at Tomair, Balallan, on Thursday.

The 49-year-old is charged of attempting to murder George Macaulay, who is in his early 30s, by striking him on the body with a knife.

She appeared on petition from custody at Stornoway Sheriff Court this afternoon.

She made no plea or declaration and her case was continued for further examination.

Honorary sheriff Roddie Mackay released her on bail to 41B Balallan.
